Ice forecasts for the Great Lakes issued by Environment Canada at
12:00 p.m. EST Saturday 17 February 2024 for today tonight and
Sunday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 12:00 p.m. Sunday.

Western Lake Superior.
Open water except 5 tenths new lake ice including 2 tenths medium
lake ice along parts of the shores. Consolidated thick lake ice in
Black Bay and Nipigon Bay. Consolidated medium lake ice in
Chequamegon Bay and eastern Thunder Bay.

Eastern Lake Superior.
Open water.

Whitefish Bay.
Open water except consolidated medium lake ice in most bays.

Northern Lake Huron.
Open water except 4 tenths medium lake ice along parts of the shores
in the northwestern section. Consolidated medium lake ice along
parts of the northern shores in the northwestern section.

Southern Lake Huron.
Open water except 2 tenths thin lake ice along parts of the shore. 3
tenths medium lake ice near Saginaw Bay.

North Channel.
6 tenths thin lake ice including 2 tenths medium lake ice except
consolidated medium lake ice in the extreme eastern and western
sections.

Northern Georgian Bay.
Open water except 9 tenths thin lake ice including 2 tenths medium
lake ice along the northeastern shore. Consolidated medium lake ice
along the northeastern shore.

Southern Georgian Bay.
Open water except 2 tenths medium lake ice along parts of the
eastern shore. Consolidated medium lake ice along parts of the
eastern shore.

Lake St. Clair
Lake Erie
Western Lake Ontario.
Open water except 3 tenths new lake ice along the shore in the
northeastern section.

Eastern Lake Ontario.
Open water except consolidated medium lake ice in the Bay Of Quinte
and in a few sheltered bays in the northeastern section.

Southern Lake Michigan.
Open water.

Northern Lake Michigan.
Open water except 9 tenths medium lake ice along parts of the
northern shore and in the Straits of Mackinac.

Green Bay.
Open water except 4 tenths medium lake ice south and east of
Chambers Island. Consolidated medium lake ice in Bays de Noc.
