Ice forecasts for the Great Lakes issued by Environment Canada at
12:00 p.m. EST Tuesday 9 January 2024 for today tonight and
Wednesday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Western Lake Superior.
Open water except 2 tenths new lake ice along parts of the shores. 9
plus tenths thin lake ice in Nipigon Bay and Black Bay. Consolidated
medium lake ice in northern Black Bay.

Eastern Lake Superior.
Open water.

Whitefish Bay.
Open water except 3 tenths new lake ice along parts of the shores.

Northern Lake Huron.
Open water except 5 tenths new lake ice along parts of the shores in
the northwestern section.

Southern Lake Huron.
Open water except 3 tenths new lake ice along parts of the shore in
Saginaw Bay.

North Channel
Northern Georgian Bay.
Open water except 5 tenths new lake ice including 2 tenths thin lake
ice along parts of the shores.

Southern Georgian Bay.
Open water except 2 tenths new lake ice along parts of the eastern
shores.

Lake St. Clair.
Open water.

Lake Erie
Western Lake Ontario.
Ice free.

Eastern Lake Ontario.
Open water except 7 tenths new lake ice in the Bay Of Quinte and in
sheltered bays in the northeastern section.

Northern Lake Michigan.
Open water except 2 tenths new lake ice along parts of the northern
shore.

Southern Lake Michigan.
Ice free.

Green Bay.
Open water except 9 tenths new lake ice including 2 tenths thin lake
ice in in Bays de Noc and southern Green Bay.
