Ice forecasts for the Great Lakes issued by Environment Canada at
12:00 p.m. EST Tuesday 27 December 2011 for today tonight and
Wednesday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Lake Superior.
Open water except 6 tenths of thin lake ice in Black Bay, Nipigon Bay
and Chequamegon Bay.

Whitefish Bay.
Open water except 6 tenths of new lake ice including 2 tenths of thin
lake ice along parts of the shore.

Lake Huron.
Open water except 3 tenths of new lake ice along the shore of Saginaw
Bay.

North Channel.
Open water except 6 tenths of new lake ice including 2 tenths of thin
lake ice in St. Marys River and along the shore of the North Channel.

Georgian Bay.
Open water except 5 tenths of new lake ice in some bays.

Lake St. Clair.
Open water.

Lake Erie.
Ice free except open water along the shore.

Lake Ontario.
Ice free except open water in the northeast section.

Lake Michigan.
Ice free except for 9 tenths of thin ice along the northern shores of
the Bays de Noc. 3 tenths of thin lake ice in strips and patches in
southern Green Bay.
