Summary for June 1 to 14.
Average air temperatures were below normal over the entire region except near normal over the Arctic Ocean and above normal over Queen Maud Gulf. Ice melt is near normal or slightly slower than normal except earlier than normal along the western coast of Alaska.

Weather forecast for June 15 to July 15.
Air temperatures are forecast to be above normal except over southern sections of the Beaufort Sea where near or below normal temperatures are forecast. 

Southeastern Beaufort Sea.
June 15-25
     	- 7-9 tenths first-year ice including a trace of old ice in the eastern section. 
      	- 4-6 tenths first-year ice in northern Mackenzie Bay north of the consolidated ice edge.
      	- Elsewhere, 9-9+ tenths first-year ice except 9-9+ tenths old ice in the northern section.
	- Consolidated first-year ice in the Mackenzie Delta beginning to fracture. 
	- Consolidated first-year ice along the Tuktoyaktuk coast beginning to fracture.  
June 25-July 2
	- 7-8 tenths ice along the coast and in the eastern section.
	- Elsewhere, 9-9+ tenths ice. 
	- Consolidated ice along the Tuktoyaktuk Peninsula fracturing completely.
	- Consolidated ice in the Mackenzie Delta melting to open water conditions. 
July 3-10 
	- 4-6 tenths ice with areas of 9-9+ tenths ice in the northern section. 	
	- Elsewhere, 1-3 tenths ice with areas of 4-6 tenths ice.
	- Open water area in Mackenzie Bay.
July 11-15
	- 4-6 tenths ice with areas of 9-9+ tenths ice in the northern section.

Amundsen Gulf.
June 15-21 
	- 7-9 tenths first-year ice including a trace of old ice in the extreme western section. 
      	- Consolidated first-year ice along the coast in the western section fracturing. 
     	- Consolidated first-year ice over the central and eastern sections fracturing. 
	- Consolidated first-year ice along the southern coast. 
June 27-June 31 
	- 7-8 tenths ice with areas of 9-9+ tenths ice along the consolidated ice edge. 
     	- Consolidated ice in the eastern and southern sections beginning to fracture.
July 8-15 
	- 4-6 tenths ice with areas of 7-8 tenths ice in the northern section and in Dolphin and Union Strait.
	- Consolidated ice in Prince Albert Sound and Minto Inlet beginning to fracture.

Prince of Wales Strait.

	- Consolidated first-year ice including up to 2 tenths old ice.

Northern Alaskan Coast.
June 15-June 23
     	- 9-9+ tenths first-year ice including a trace of old ice in the northern section. 
	- 7-9 tenths first-year ice including a trace of old ice in the extreme western section north of the consolidated ice edge.
     	- Consolidated first-year ice along the coast.

    	- 4-6 tenths ice with areas of 7-8 tenths ice west and near Point Barrow.
